Suzanne is a Clinical Psychologist in Doncaster East, Victoria. I provide LGBTQIA+ psychotherapy and counselling in my clinic and also Telehealth Counselling over video, so you can stay at home. I can support lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans/transgender, intersex, queer and other sexuality, gender, and bodily diverse people.

My Approach to LGBTQIA+ Counselling

Hello. I’m glad you’ve landed here. I’ve put up a specific page for LGBTQIA+ psychotherapy and counselling, not because my approach will be particularly different, but just in case you might need some extra reassurance that you are coming to a clinic, and psychologist, who is safe and accepting. So welcome, you will be safe here.

I can help you with whatever is going on, whether that is related to everyday life things you need to work through, mental health issues, trauma or gender/sexuality concerns. We can do traditional talk therapy, or if we need to go a little deeper, I can use Emotion Focused Therapy, which is a form of psychotherapy which can help you go beyond the thinking mind to what lies underneath, to the underlying emotional sources. Yes, that often means going back to your childhood, or earlier traumas, and reprocessing any emotional issues that may be stopping you from living, or being, the way you want to. I treat from a trauma informed perspective, whether you’ve experienced trauma or not (and most of us have to some extent). That means that your emotional and psychological safety is a priority.
